Purchasing Guide for Instant Gazebo

Purchasing instant marquees or instant pop up shelters and instant gazebos can be a confusing affair, what with the variety of options available in the market today. And while they are relatively a low cost investment for your next outdoor activity, choosing the right one for the job will help you make the most off your money.

To help make the right choice before making a purchase, it is best to follow a few tips to ensure that you have all your bases covered.

1.      Establish what you will use the pop up gazebo for – There are certain types of instant marquees or shelters available for certain types of applications. They can be used for temporary repair shelters, booths, and product promotions, work tents, catering, and even camping or caravanning. Know your desired application and select the right type of marquee to do the job.

2.      Check the specifications – This involves the rated coverage area, size, shape and height of your portable marquee. Know the details for each unit especially the clearances and maximum heights to ensure that you get the marquee that fits your needs. Depending on the requirements, you may need to put together a series of marquees to get the suitable coverage especially for large events that need to occupy a substantially sized area.

3.      Choose the right frame type – Most pop up gazebos are made from a steel or aluminium frame. Steel frames are generally applied on leisure marquees or budget models because of the relatively cheap raw material. They are much heavier and are susceptible to rust which can degrade them over time. Aluminium frames are generally used on most commercial grade models and are more resilient to moisture. They offer better strength with the use of thicker frame walls but can be pricier.

4.    Frame fittings – Almost all pop up gazebos are put up in different ways, with a variety of frame arrangements which may require an assortment of fittings. The more expensive models use an arrangement of locks and pins in order to retain joints and connections in place. Others use simple nut and bolt arrangements or pins and caps.
